Birmingham West Tarbiyyat Day Report – Date 3rd May, 2015
By the grace of Allah, the Birmingham West Jamaat held its Tarbiyyat Day on Sunday May 03, 2015 at Baitul Ghafoor Mosque under the instructions and guidance from the centre. All members of the Jamaat were informed about the event well in time through halqa Saiqeen, emails, Friday announcements and Text messages. Lajna members were also invited through Sadar sahiba Lajna. They participated in the proceedings through one-way audio-visual Link, sitting in the Lajna Hall.
From the Centre Naib Secretary Tarbiyyat (National) Mr Dabir Bhatti represented Nisar Orchard sahib. The proceedings formally started at 11:00 am with the recitation of the Holy Quran and its translation by Mr. Rafi Ahmad Shahnawaz. Dr. Masood Ahmad Majoka, thanking the team from centre, in his welcome address, stressed upon the children to pay full attention to the proceedings and get maximum benefit from it.
Following this, Mr Bhatti requested Missionary Incharge Mr. Aqeel Ahmad Kang to lead the audience in silent prayers before starting his well planned, comprehensive and interactive presentation. The central theme of his presentation was the characteristics of moral values which serve as the foundation stone of righteousness “Taqwa” and which in turn leads one to Allah. He focused on the aim in life and the true aim an Ahmadi should have. The presentation mainly targeted the children, a good number of them were present in the meeting.
Mr Bhatti stressed that one should not develop the negative and harmful effects of achievements we make during the course of life such as feeling of superiority, lavish lifestyle, dysfunctional families and arrogance. Instead humbleness should be the key to success and most liked virtue by Allah. He very interestingly built up the scenario involving the audience in asking questions at every step of his presentation. The lime light of the presentation was the symbolic ‘mountain of Taqwa’ which showed the steps leading to it with difficulties on the path to it. He also imbedded questions from the recent sermon of Hadhoor-e-Aqdus and children not only showed their keen interest in answering them but also answered most of the questions correctly.
The second interesting part of the presentation was the quiz competition. Male members were divided in three teams and lajna in two teams. The quiz was won by the Lajna Team-A and the runner up team were Men-A with a margin of only one point.
A total of 100 members benefited from the event with 50 men and same number of lajna. After the meeting, Zohar prayer was offered in congregation and dinner was served to all the members.
It is planned that such events will be repeated regularly in future, Insha’Allah.
