Redbridge South & Newham Tarbiyyat Day Report – Date 16th February, 2015

On Monday 16th February 2015 Redbridge South Jamaat hosted our very first Tarbiyyat Day.  The event was organised as an evening event with members arriving for 6.30PM.

Event Planning

All members of the Jamaat were invited, and an attendance campaign had started weeks before the event.  Members were contacted using a number of methods including telephone calls, text messages and via mobile messaging groups.  Announcements were made on various occasions as well including the local Khuddam and Atfal Ijtemas.   Due to Huzoor (aba)’s address at the Bangladesh Jalsa Salana, the date of the event had to be changed last minute, however by the Grace and Blessings of Allah this did not have much of a negative impact on the overall attendance for the event.

Regular contact was maintained with National Tarbiyyat Secretary Nisar Orchard sahib in the run up to the event and a detailed programme and itinerary were put together.

Event Summary

Alhumdolillah, the event started slight later than the scheduled start time at around 7.30PM. It started with recitation of the Holy Quran by Amar Khan sahib. This was followed by a very enlightening and informative presentation by Nisar Orchard sahib for nearly an hour.  The presentation style was most engaging as all members young and old listened and participated attentively.  Throughout the presentation there were various questions about Huzoor’s (aba) Friday sermons and members were reminded that they should listen to Huzoor’s (aba) sermons attentively.

There was a short break in the presentation for Ishaa prayers at 8.00PM and the presentation continued following prayers.  Food was served at around 9.00PM and due to the late start Nisar sahib decided to continue with his presentation as members were very eager to hear more and engaged.

Many members had to leave after food as it was a working day, however many stayed eager to take part in the quiz that had been promised.  The remaining members were split into teams, and the quiz commenced with Nisar sahib asking the questions.  A very exciting atmosphere had been created that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  The event ended around 10.30PM with silent prayer.

Attendance

The attendance for the event was over 50 members, nearly 50 from Redbridge South Jamaat.  (9 Lajna and 3 Nasirat & 1 under 7, and approximately 35 Ansar and Khuddam). There were additional 10 members from Newham Jamaat.

Feedback

The feedback from Jamaat members was very positive, every one enjoyed the event, and many members thanked Nisar Orchard sahib for kindly visiting our Jamaat and delivering such an excellent presentation and an interesting quiz.

Lajna members commented “A very informative event, ideas about tarbiyyat very clearly presented. The analogy of Laundry sticks in my mind. Enjoyed the questions and the quiz. The length was about right, you need time to explain issues and teachings. An event that was enjoyed by the whole family.”

May Allah bring very positive fruits of this event for Redbridge South Jamaat and may we all reform ourselves and meet the expectations of our beloved Imam, Hazrat Khalifatul Mashih Al-Khamis’s (May Allah be his helper with His mighty help), Ameen. Insha’Allah we will hold similar events in future as well.

Feedback from Lajna:-

Total attendance was 17, of which 4 Lajna from Newham and 9 Lajna and 3 Nasirat & 1 under 7 from Redbridge South.

A very informative event, ideas about tarbiyyat very clearly presented. The analogy of Laundry sticks in my mind. Enjoyed the questions and the quiz. The length was about right, you need time to explain issues and teachings. An event that was enjoyed by the whole family.
