Bradford North Tarbiyyat Day Report – Date 10th October, 2015
On Saturday 10th October 2015, Bradford North and South Jamaats held their second Tarbiyyat Day this year, the first being in February, with National Secretary Tarbiyyat UK, Nisar Orchard Sahib again attending from the centre.
The program began at 5:15am with congregational Tahajjud prayers offered at Al-Mahdi Mosque followed by Fajr Prayers at 6:00am. This was followed by Dars-e-Quran from Tafsir-e-Khabir from Chapter 2 verse 4 with regards to observing prayer, given by Regional Missionary, Maulana Mubarak Ahmed Basra Sahib.
The Tarbiyyat day program then reconvened at 11:00am with Tilawat of the Holy Quran by Intisar Ahmed Sahib and Urdu translation by Hud Anwar Sahib. Following on from this there was a short address by Maulana Mubarak Ahmed Basra Sahib on the topic of ‘Importance of Reading the Holy Quran’. The address emphasised how important it was not only to recite the Holy Quran regularly, but also once it had been read, it should be understood with translation and commentary.
National Secretary Tarbiyyat, Nisar Orchard Sahib, then gave a one hour 20 minute powerpoint presentation on the ‘Sources of Righteousness’, this was a very interesting and interactive session, that touched on various tarbiyyat activities that should and should not be followed to obtain righteousness.
After the presentation, a Q/A session followed. Members of the audience were invited to ask questions on various aspects of Tarbiyyat. Many interesting questions arose from both the Men’s side and also the women’s side who sent in written questions. The questions were very ably answered by both Maulana Mubarak Ahmed Basra Sahib and also National Secretary Tarbiyyat, Nisar Orchard Sahib. There were approximately 10 questions during this part of the program which lasted for 35 minutes and was only curtailed due to the shortage of time.
Following the Q/A session, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Sahib, President Bradford North jamaat, delivered a vote of thanks, expressing his gratitude in particular to National Secretary Tarbiyyat, Nisar Orchard Sahib, who had spent his valuable time to visit Bradford again. A total of 165 members of both Bradford North and South jamaats attended this event.
Maulana Mubarak Ahmed Basra Sahib then led everyone in silent prayer to finish the program, after which Zohar and Asr prayers were offered. Lunch was then served to all members who had attended this very beneficial program.
